About this number
This is the ex-depot price of Premier Euro 5 petrol set by the government on OGRA's recommendation and charged at every PSO pump; other companies match it. It includes the petroleum levy and sales tax where applied. Pump prices in some cities add a few paise of transport cost.
Reviews are fortnightly (the 1st and the 16th) unless the government moves earlier. We record the notified price with the date it took effect and link the notification.
Questions people ask
- What is the petrol price in Pakistan today?
- The current notified price per litre is at the top of this page with its effective date.
- When does the petrol price change?
- The government reviews prices every fortnight, effective the 1st and 16th of the month, following OGRA's working on international prices and the exchange rate. It can change earlier when oil moves sharply.
- How is the petrol price calculated?
- Ex-refinery price (international benchmark plus freight) plus the petroleum levy, inland freight equalisation margin, oil company margin, dealer margin and sales tax where charged. The levy is the government's main lever.
- How much does a full tank cost?
- Multiply the price by your tank: a 40-litre tank at the current rate is shown in the table on this page. The fuel cost calculator works it out for your car and mileage.
